How Much Would You Pay for Your Health?
Did you know that an MRI costs $800 less in France than it does here? Ezra Klein from the Washington Post explains that compared to the rest of the world, America pays the highest bills for medical care!! Is it because we get top of the line care? Maybe we’re more sick that other countries? Or maybe because we have the most groundbreaking technology? Sadly, it’s none of these things.
According to Ezra’s article, it just boils down to the prices. In America’s oligopolistic market, customers don’t have real choice and providers take advantage by charging as much as they can get away with!
